It can take about 2 weeks for shallow roots to form and up to 6 weeks to establish a deep root

How long does it take for sod to root?

How much water do I apply?

How and when do I fertilize the new sod?

How long before I can walk on the sod or mow it?

Water your newly installed sod within 30 minutes once it is down. Water thoroughly to equal about an inch of water every 1-3 days, depending on weather conditions. Keep the sod and soil surface constantly moist, but not soaking wet.

Fertilize new sod for the first time about 6 weeks after laying it down. You may apply a slow release granular with

a 10-10-10 ratio. No more than 1 lb. of nitrogen per 1000 sq. feet of lawn. '

New lawn starter is a great product for this.

Stay off your sod for the first 2 weeks. Once the new grass has grown an inch or more, you can consider mowing. This could be as quickly as 2-3 weeks after installing. Mow only when the ground conditions will support the mower weight and not leave an impression.  Never reduce the total height of the grass blades by more than 1/3.
