What to Expect
After You Plant
After planting, you may notice:
-
Mild wilting
-
Leaf drop
-
Slower growth at first
-
Minor color shifts
This is called transplant shock. It's a natural part of the plant settling into it's new environment.
Roots establish first. Visible top growth follows.
Consistent watering and proper placement are the most important factors during this time.
If you're ever unsure whether something is normal or not, give our team a call. We're happy to help.

Watering Matters Most!
Newly planted trees and shrubs require steady, deep watering during their first growing season.

General guidelines:
-
Deep watering 1–2 times per week
-
Adjust for rainfall and temperature
-
Avoid frequent, shallow watering
Every yard is different. If you’re unsure how much to water, we’re happy to help you create a plan.
